Linux inodes usage?

Is there someplace where the agent measures inodes usage at the moment?

I can see all diskspace usage, io etc. But i couldnt see any measurement of spent inodes.

Hi,

You can use our iNode plugin integration to monitor the performance, availability, and usage stats of iNode servers.

Let us know for further queries, if any, in the below thread.

This works, but it would be nice if inode usage was part of the standard disk checks for linux monitors. It doesnt make sense to me that it is not..

Hi,

Thank you for the feedback. We shall check on the feasibility of having inode usage as part of server disk checks in the future.

I have been in contact with site24 support and they said that this will be implemented as a standard metric for linux servers. I did not get a timeframe for when this will be done tho.

Is this already a part of the standard disk checks in any way, or do we still need to mess around with the plugin?

I don't think there's necessarily difficulty with using the plugin, moreover that inodes are a standard (and basic) measure of filesystems in Linux and so should just be included by default on Linux agents.

Correct. The administrative overhead is larger, and there is more room for error when having to rely on plugins.

Hello Travis and Tom,

Honoring your requests, we have now placed "iNode monitoring feature build" in queue and it will be added to our Linux server monitoring agent.

Please note that we acknowledge your views stating your business requirements make you prefer the monitoring agent rather the plugin. While we work on this feature request, for any of your immediate requirements, we encourage you to try our iNode monitoring plugin.

Happy monitoring!
Geo
