plugins aws elasticsearch monitoring

Hi,

Doe's anyone here, successfully configured plugins to monitor aws Elasticsearch service? I've got an error 'Error For Plugin : elasticsearch.py / msg : URL Error [Errno -2] Name or service not known'

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Did you deploy the plugin in an Instance of your ElasticSearch Cluster? How is your Network Configuration for your domain? Is it VPN Access or Internet

Please let us know the following

what metrics you would like to monitor for your ES domain in AWS?

How many domains do you have? (or planning to have if you are just starting)

How many clusters do have?

I can assume you would have a Master Node as well.

We are planning to bring in ES monitoring as part of AWS monitoring itself. Would this fit into your scheme of things?

Hi Jasper,

Plugins configured via ec2 instance. For now only have 1 cluster with 5 nodes and can be accessible via aws elasticsearch endpoint (https). I need to monitor the performance as well as the storage consumption etc. Yes, much better if you can integrate aws elasticsearch service so I don't need to configure additional plugins. Could you give me feedback? on when you can have this integrate?

Thanks,

Jonathan

Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for clarifying things. Are the nodes accessible to internet? Check the connectivity using the agent.

We don't have a timeline when we will integrate ES into AWS monitoring. Until that time please use our plugin to monitoring.

As a step in resolving the problem you mentioned earlier please run the curl command for the url below

"https://<serverhost>:<port>/_nodes/stats" from your terminal inside your host and check what the output is.

You contact us in support@site24x7.com with your results if you feel you don't want to share the results in public.
