REST API Transaction - 1,5 minutes frequency & shell access required

We use REST API Transaction for 2-3 steps transactions.

They took usually up to 5 seconds.

The highest frequency for  this type of monitors is 10 minutes.

Having very tight SLA'a it is to less.

We need to have 1 and  5 minutes frequency.

In addition this type of monitoring should have a simple shell access to be able to run basic & simple scripts (otherwise it is difficult to use this feature comparing to  jMeeter and Zabbibx).

Hello,

We will consider supporting a lower poll interval of 1 minute with a limited number of steps. This is so that all steps complete within the interval and subsequent polls are not delayed.

We need more details regarding the scripting support you requested. As I understand, you need to open a shell (say via SSH) and run a script remotely on your server. I believe this is better performed outside the REST API monitor, with our other automation features.

Can you give us an example of what functions are performed by the script?

Our idea to start shell script was something like for example JMeter has in their “post processor” actions (there is a possibility to start shell or python script or any other after request to do something with response data).

Site24x7 has a possibility to extract data from response but there is still limitation that we cannot transform that data and use them changed in next steps. Any programing language implemented after a request would give users unlimited possibilities to prepare probes.

The main goal of this ticket can be related to the ticket “[## 626194 ##]  Website and Web App Monitoring : JSON PATH extractor” where was no possibility to extract ID as a string from JSON.

Mentioned ticket could be easily solved by users when they would have possibility to run own lets say python program (or any other programming language from shell) and modify the data.

Please consider such option or please let us know if this is possible but we are not aware of it.

We are considering a similar script based approach that would allow flexible manipulation of the data. We'll keep you posted with any updates.

When do you assume it might be introduced?
