Detect stale logs and backup failures with File Age Check

File Age Check continuously monitors the age of a file and alerts you when it exceeds a configured threshold. This helps you quickly detect stale log files or backup data that may indicate a process failure.

Learn how to configure this resource check and others in our help document.

Key details

  • Supported only on Windows agents v22.1.00 and above for now. Make sure your agents are upgraded.

  • Use regex patterns to monitor multiple files at once. Example: `error_*.log$` will match all error logs ending with `.log`.

  • When the file’s age surpasses the threshold, the monitor status changes to DOWN, TROUBLE, or CRITICAL based on your configuration.

With File Age Check, you can proactively catch issues before they escalate, ensuring smoother operations and reliable monitoring.

Happy monitoring!
