Status Page for monitor Groups

Hi i need a status page that show the monitor groups status....it makes no sense to show to my customers that webserver1 is ok, webserver2 is ok, webserver3 is ok.... what makes sense is: "webservers" ok.....

And it would be good to be able to group resoucers, something like, the database and the webserver for a given product are ok, so THE PRODUCT is ok.

Hi guys,

I can understand that this is a late update.. To give you a heads up we are enhancing the status pages experience as a whole and these cases are taken into consideration already. We'll let you know when we have something to show you. Stay tuned.

Hi Jasper,

It is great to hear that this is being looked at, it is something we also very much need as our naming conventions for individual services/servers are not very customer friendly so can only really use status pages internally at the moment.

Is there any chance you could give a very rough idea on time frame for status page improvements? 2018 Q1/Q2 ish or possibly later?

Hi,

As Jasper said above, we are enhancing the status pages experience as a whole and we do support grouping resources too in it as asked in this post.

And we expect this feature to be out in 4-5 weeks time and will update this space once it is released.

Thanks for your interest in Site24x7.

Laxmikanth,

This looks great.

But how do you use this to show the status of a monitor group without showing the specific group monitors?

The selection options for setting components only includes individual monitors and not the groups.

Thanks

Hi,

We do show the status of monitor group along with its monitors(components). Kindly check screenshot below

And yes as you said, we allow one component to be associated with one monitor in Site24x7 and right now we do not support importing monitor groups from Site24x7. But you can achieve the same by migrating all your status pages from Site24x7 to Signals.

So you are saying that Site24X7 is totally replacing the "Status Page" feature with "Signals"?   Is your "Zylker" example from "Status Page" or "Signal"?   Seeing that Signals is still "Beta", when is this going live?

Hi,

Yes, we have stopped enhancements for Status Pages in Site24x7 and "Zylker" example we have given above is from our new Signals.

After GA, Site24x7 Status Pages will be completely replaced by Signals.

And we are planning to release Signals GA in Q2 2019.

What is the cost to use this feature if there is an additional cost or is this included in any paid plan?

From a HelpDesk perspective, I can't see where "Signals" is anything other than a "minor" cosmetic enhancement of the Status Pages.   The fact that you can you can only associate only one component with one monitor is not much better than "Status Pages".

Operations personnel may care about individual servers and components but if we want to make this a "public" facing web page, we need to be able to publish content based on "service" groups as it would be more intuitive.

How does Apple do it?

https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/

Example:  "Apple Music" is displaying as one service but obviously there is more then just one component.  End-user just care whether "Apple Music" is "green" or "red" not the individual components that make up the Apple Music service.

Make sense?

Hi framirez,

We are working on Pricing, we would be announcing pricing for Signals along with our GA which we would be happening in Q2 2019.

Hi david.heldt,

I guess you are asking for Component Groups which we already support. By default, we just show Component Group status and one has to expand a Component Group to see the status of individual Components.

I hope that answers your question.

Laxmi,

After GA, Site24x7 Status Pages will be completely replaced by www.site24x7.com/app/signals?fs=true

And we are planning to release www.site24x7.com/app/signals?fs=true GA in Q2 2019.

If this is the case, is it safe to say that Signals will not be an additional cost?

If this is not free then you would be forcing your customers to buy additional service for something you currently offer as part of their paid package.

Hi Framirez,

The new status pages product, like Site24x7, will have a free Edition  that will be as functional as the previous version of Status Pages. So you will not have any additional cost associated.

The paid version will be there as it will support additional features like sending notifications by SMS or other mechanisms to visitors of your Status Page who have registered for it. It will have other features too in the future.

I hope this clarifies.

Thanks
Gibu

Hi

I think one of the questions asked has not really been answered.

Is it possible to show the monitor group status without the underlying monitors? - ie the expand possibility should not be possible or visible.

As it is mentioned above - an application can be monitored by many odd monitors, which are really irrelevant for the end users - they should only be notified about any issues in the application.

Hope that it is possible, as it would be really good for end-customer communication.
