Azure Power BI Embedded Monitoring Integration

Azure Power BI Embedded enables you to visualize your data in easy-to-decipher reports and dashboards and provides extensive integration capabilities.

With Site24x7's integration, you can now monitor your Power BI Embedded database, configure thresholds, and receive alerts about critical issues.

Setup and configuration

You can add Azure Power BI Embedded while adding a new monitor, or you can add it to an existing Azure monitor. Follow these steps to add the service.

Supported metrics

The following metrics are collected:

Query Duration (Datasets) The data analysis expression (DAX) query duration in  the last interval Average Milliseconds
Query Pool Job Queue Length (Datasets) The number of jobs in the queue of the query thread pool Average Count
Memory The amount of memory available Average Bytes
Memory Thrashing (Datasets) The amount of memory getting thrashed Average Percent
QPU High Utilization The total number of  quantum processing units utilized to the maximum Total Count
QPU The total number of quantum processing units available Average Count
Memory per Workload The amount of memory per workload Average Bytes
QPU per Workload The total number of  quantum processing units  per workload Average Count

Threshold configuration

Global configuration

  1. Go to the Admin section in the left navigation pane.
  2. Select Configuration Profiles from the left pane and choose the Threshold and Availability (+) tab from the drop-down menu. Click Add Threshold Profile from the top-right corner.
  3. Set the monitor type as Azure Power BI Embedded. You can now set the threshold values for all the metrics mentioned above.

Monitor-level configuration

  1. Go to Cloud > Azure and select Azure Power BI Embedded from the drop-down menu.
  2. Choose a resource for which you would like to set a threshold, then click the hamburger icon . Select Edit, which will direct you to the Edit Azure Power BI Embedded Monitor page.
  3. You can set the threshold values for the metrics by selecting Threshold and Availability. You can also configure IT Automation at the attribute level.
